Characters

Its very important to know the character you are portraying, especially if you havent played them before or are unfamiliar with the show or movie theyre from. Before your event, take some time to review our character information pages, have a quick read through the characters bio on Wikipedia or even indulge your inner child and watch the movie or a few episodes of the show. This helps you understand their personality, mannerisms and story, allowing you to bring the character to life and create a more magical, authentic experience for the children.

  • Watch the TV show or movie if there is one so you can familiarise yourself with the basic plot and other characters that appear alongside the character you’re playing
  • Practice his or her voice and any other unique traits the character may have
  • Learn some common words or phrases they may say
  • Create a themed playlist of music so you’re ready to go on the day with songs that are specific to that character/TV show/movie

If youre performing a generic character such as a Fairy or Pirate, you have creative license to come up with your very own character name! Maybe Fairy Sparkle or Patch the pirate?! Have fun with it!
